What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We use personal data supplied by you including names, email addresses, postal addresses and phone numbers for purposes of replying to your contact messages. If and only if you give your active consent, we retain your name and email address data for inclusion in a mailing list of people wishing to receive notices of our services and other events. We also collect and retain data relating to baptisms, marriages and funerals for purposes of permanent record and certification.
Our website includes a contact form. The personal data which you provide on this form is used to enable us to send a reply, if one is required. Unless you specifically ask us to contact you again in future, we will hold your contact details for no more than three months.
Our website does not set any cookies.
Embedded content from other websites
The Календарь page in the Russian-language pages of this website includes embedded content provided by BG Orthodox Calendar (https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/bg-orthodox-calendar/) by Viktor Bogaiskov (https://bogaiskov.ru/). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
We use a third party service AWStats (https://www.awstats.org/) to analyse the standard log provided by our server. This tells us, for example, how many users visit the various parts of our site, at what times the site is most busy, and what search engines and other automated software are visiting the site. We do not use analytics to find out the identities of people visiting our site.
Who we share your data with
We share personal data on baptisms, marriages and funerals with the Diocese of Sourozh (http://www.sourozh.org/) for administrative purposes.
How long we retain your data
We keep contact form entries for up to three months unless you specifically ask us to keep you on our mailing list. We keep the mailing list of people who have actively requested to be informed about our services and other events until the person or their representative has asked for the data to be amended or removed from the list. We keep a permanent record of data on baptisms, weddings and funerals.
What rights you have over your data
If you are on our mailing list, or have sent us a message through the Contacts page on our website, you can request to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative or legal purposes.
Where we send your data
Your data is processed and stored in the United Kingdom. We do not process or send your data outside the European Union.
